The Butterfly Effect

The butterfly effect theory deals with the concept that small actions or variations can affect large systems. Every large system must have tiny components that all work together to create that system, so if one variable is changed the entire system is compromised. The butterfly effect is also referred to as Chaos Theory. The term "butterfly effect" stems from the idea that the flap of a butterfly's wings could cause weather changes, even tornadoes, halfway around the world.
